Contains a whole spice pouch, a 'tarka' spiced sauce and cooked lentils.
Fry the whole spices in 1-2 tsp of hot oil (or ghee) until sizzling.
Stir in the tarka sauce (the small pouch) and bring to a simmer.
Add the lentils and 100-150ml water, bring to a simmer… then serve!
Finish with fresh chopped coriander for added freshness.
Cook the spices in ghee for that restaurant flavour, or finish with a knob of butter.
Add in a few handfuls of baby spinach for a one-pot meal.
Add a little single cream at the end of cooking to calm the heat, or serve with yoghurt for a cool, creamy tang.
