Chickpea or channa masala is a North Indian fave. It is earthy, nutty and so delicious! Add spinach to make a tasty one-pot meal that is full of flavour.

Chickpea masala is a favorite in North India. It is earthy, nutty, delicious and a great vegetarian protein-laden option. You can add some baby spinach in for a one-pot meal or add in some sautéed mushrooms or chicken for a heartier meal.
Ingredients
  • 1 pack of The Spice Tailor Punjabi Chickpea Masala (chickpeas included)
  • 1-2 tsp hot vegetable oil or ghee
  • Small fistful of chopped coriander to serve
Method
  1. Fry the spices from the whole spice sachet in 1-2 tsp of hot oil (or ghee) until sizzling.
  2. Stir in the Tarka Sauce (the small pouch) and bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the chickpeas from the large pouch and 2-3 tbsp water and bring to a simmer.
  4. Stir in the chopped coriander and serve with naan, Indian flat breads or basmati rice.
